Great Stories…
Thematic Depth
What is life? What makes us human? When do you give mercy and when do you enact judgement?
The questions that no one else asks dance inside of your mind, as you finger the spines of books at your local bookstore. There. You find one with an interesting concept. Cracking open the cover, you read the first few lines and flip through the book. Your eyes are smarting by the time you finish. Agh. Don’t they have even a little respect? You die a little inside as you put it back on the shelf, heart yearning for that beautiful concept, the thematic possibilities.
Ah. Here’s one you’ve heard of. All your friends tell you it’s clean, so you read the blurb. Ugh. Boring. Desperate, you take it home anyway and give it a try. But the characters are flat and it’s riddled with plotholes.
Where are the books that combine great stories with thematic depth?
Who am I?
I grew up on science fiction, originally from movies and TV shows, and eventually transitioned into books. But for a long time, I was a sci-fi writer who hated science fiction. After abandoning dozens of books after just a few sentences, I began to lose hope of finding any more science fiction that I could love.
And that’s when I decided to fix that. As a high-achieving student currently enrolled in the Author Conservatory, I have written over 700,000 words in my twelve years of crafting fiction, and I am thrilled to be expanding this genre.
